a little planning before installation can make your digital signage setup much easier to manage long term before mounting screens or deploying fusion signage, it's worth considering the physical setup, network connection and how the hardware will be accessed if troubleshooting is ever required screen location think about where the screen will be installed and how it will be viewed consider things like screen size and viewing distance portrait or landscape orientation lighting and glare indoor or outdoor use ventilation around the screen whether the screen will be easy to physically access if the screen is being installed somewhere difficult to reach, remote management and reliable hardware become even more important network connection fusion signage requires an internet connection to communicate with the platform and receive updates to your content before installation, make sure the screen or media player can connect to the network where it will be installed depending on your environment, your it team may also need to review things like firewalls, network restrictions or wi fi access where possible, we recommend testing the network connection before the final installation media player placement if you're using an external media player, make sure there's somewhere suitable to securely install it the player will need access to power, the screen's hdmi input and your network connection avoid placing the player somewhere that may cause overheating or make it unnecessarily difficult to access later screen settings some screens may need additional configuration before they're ready for digital signage use this can include setting the correct input source configuring automatic power settings disabling sleep or energy saving settings setting the screen orientation the exact options available will depend on the screen manufacturer and model test before completing the installation where possible, we recommend pairing the screen with fusion signage and testing your content before completing the physical installation check that the screen connects to fusion signage downloads and displays content correctly has a stable network connection returns to fusion signage after restarting displays content at the expected resolution and orientation it's much easier to troubleshoot these things before a screen is mounted several metres off the ground! looking for something else? we canβt wait to hear about it reach out to our sunshiney support and we'll be in touch in a flash
