Android install instructions
Generic Android Device or Media player
Use these installation instructions if you have a screen or media player with an Android operating system, but does not fall into one of our manufacturer specific installation guides.
Note about Android devices:
There are countless variations of Android media players and screens available on the market ranging from residential TVs to commercial grade/industrial devices. As a result, Fusion Signage cannot ensure support for all variations of chipsets and capabilities.
We highly recommend testing your device with Fusion Signage and the content you intend to display to ensure playback is smooth and consistent.
While our application may work, we do not recommend you use:
- Smart TV's or Residential TV's
- Consumer grade tablets

Pre-requisites
USB with our Fusion Signage APK
Screen or media player with remote or keyboard & mouse
Android OS 4.4 or higher
Fusion Signage account and licence
Active internet connection
Minimum Android Requirements
- Operating System
- Android 13+ is recommended
- Android 5.1+ is a minimum for our current applications
- Android 4.4+ will work with our legacy applications (you'll need to get in touch with us at [email protected] for the APK).
- Graphics card which supports dual video decoding (or higher)
- Root AccessRoot access to the device (required for auto boot and application updates)
- Optional: Portrait rotation enabled (if using portrait)
Quick Installation
Connect your device to a screen (if a media player) and to the internet
Set the time & date (required to receive a pairing identity from our servers)
Download our APK
Copy the APK to USB and insert device (or download directly on the player browser if supported)
Install our APK and follow the steps
Depending on your Android version you may get additional prompts during this process which we recommend you accept.
Open Fusion Signage and you will see the identity
Pair your device with your Fusion Signage account
Quick Clear Storage
Clear storage if your device is having issues with content and you need to delete all content and reset the identity.
Close down Fusion Signage
Locate your devices Android Settings
Navigate to Applications or Apps
Click on Fusion Signage
Locate Storage & Cache (wording may vary)
Click on Clear Storage
Reload Fusion Signage
Quick Uninstall
Close down Fusion Signage
Locate your devices Android Settings
Navigate to Applications
Locate Fusion Signage and click uninstall
Installation Steps
Step 1: Connect to the Internet
- Set up the internet on your device
- This can be ethernet or WiFi depending on your devices capabilities
- Ideally you are using the internet connection on-site to ensure there are no issues
Not connecting?
- Check device time & date
- Confirm WiFi password is correct
- Check all cables
- Hotspot off your phone to confirm device is not faulty
- Refer to our Ports & Firewallsf if required
Step 2: Time & Date
Time & Date is required to be set to ensure:
- Your device can connect to the internet
- You receive an identity code for pairing your device to your Fusion Signage account
- For any content scheduling
Steps:
Navigate to Android Settings
Locate Time & Date
Set device Time & Date to your location or time zone
Step 3: Download APK
Always download the latest version of our application from prior to installing.
Current latest version: 2.12.0
Option 1: Download directly on device
Open the web browser on your device
Navigate to https://fus.app/a.apk
The APK will download to your devic
Option 2: Download on your PC or computer
Open the web browser on your computer
Navigate to https://fus.app/a.apk (Do not attempt to extract or run this APK on your computer)
Insert your USB Flash drive into your computer
Copy the APK directly to a USB
Insert USB into your Android device
Step 4: Install Fusion Signage
Run the APK on your device
Follow the on screen prompts and open Fusion Signage
Ensure any accessibility settings are turned on
If you see any pop ups about unauthorised applications not being supported, you'll need to follow the steps to turn it on for Fusion Signage

Set and configure any app settings you need: App settings
Uninstall Fusion Signage
Follow these steps if you need to remove Fusion Signage from your device:
Close down Fusion Signage
This can be done using a mouse or remote. Usually you will need to drag up from the bottom of the screen as if you were swiping up on a phone. This will bring up the Android menu, and you can minimise the application.
Locate your devices Android Settings
Navigate to Applications
Locate Fusion Signage and click uninstall
Clear Application Storage
Clear storage if your device is having issues with content and you need to delete all content and reset the identity. There will be two options:
- Clear Storage (this will completely remove everything)
- Clear Cache (this will remove only temporary files)
Clearing the storage of your device will remove all media, and replace the identity of your device.
- If you are running application 2.5.0 or higher your device will automatically be added back into your account once it receives a new identity.
- If your application is earlier than this you will need to manually add the screen back.
Steps:
Close down Fusion Signage
